The CALEDONIA Waterfalls are located on Cyprus, in the Platres area, in the southwest of the island, within the Troodos Mountains. They were named after the ancient Latin name for Scotland — Caledonia. This name was chosen in honor of the Scottish explorers who first visited the region. The waterfalls were discovered in 1878 during a Scottish expedition to Cyprus, and the explorers, struck by the resemblance of these majestic waterfalls to the landscapes of their homeland, decided to give them this symbolic name.
The Caledonia Waterfalls consist of several cascades, falling from a height of 12 meters, creating stunning streams of water that offer breathtaking views against the backdrop of dense forests and green hills. It is one of the most famous natural sites in Cyprus, attracting tourists with its natural beauty, coolness, and tranquility.
